TERMS OF SERVICE
1. The Service
FORGE is a 3D mesh repair service operated by FORGE Oy (Y-tunnus TBD), a company registered in Finland. The service accepts 3D mesh files uploaded by customers, processes them through a voxel-based repair pipeline, and delivers watertight output files in STL format suitable for 3D printing and CAD import.
By using FORGE you agree to these terms. If you are using the service on behalf of an organisation, you represent that you have authority to bind that organisation.
2. Acceptable Use
You may use FORGE to repair mesh files that you own or have the right to process. You must not:
- Upload files containing malware or that are designed to exploit our pipeline.
- Attempt to reverse-engineer, overload, or abuse the service.
- Upload files for which you do not hold sufficient intellectual property rights to authorise processing by FORGE.
- Automate uploads beyond the published rate limits without prior written consent.
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate access for violation of these terms.
3. Your Files and Intellectual Property
You retain all intellectual property rights in the files you upload. By uploading a file you grant FORGE Oy a limited, non-exclusive licence to process that file solely for the purpose of providing the repair service to you. We do not claim ownership of your geometry, use it for any other purpose, or share it with third parties except as described in the Privacy Policy.
The repaired output file is derived from your input and inherits your ownership.
4. Payment, Refunds and Quality
Prices are shown in euros including applicable VAT. Payment is processed by Stripe. By completing checkout you authorise the charge shown.
Our guarantee: if the repair pipeline produces an output file that is not geometrically watertight (as reported by our inspector), you are entitled to a full refund. Contact support@forge3d.fi with your order ID within 14 days of purchase.
For reasons other than a failed watertight result, we offer refunds at our discretion within 14 days of purchase, provided the download link has not been used. Once a file has been downloaded the sale is final, in accordance with Article 16(m) of the Consumer Rights Directive (digital content supplied on request).
We do not guarantee that the repaired mesh will be accepted by any specific CAD application (e.g. SolidWorks) — watertightness is a necessary but not always sufficient condition for CAD import. See our technical notes for details.
5. File Retention and Deletion
Uploaded files and repair outputs are automatically deleted after 7 days for unpaid jobs and after 30 days for paid orders. Download links expire after 24 hours; re-download is available within the 30-day window by returning to the app on the same browser. After deletion we cannot recover files.
You can delete all your files and records immediately at any time by using the erasure feature in the app (Settings → Delete my data) or by sending DELETE /api/me with your X-Forge-Uid header.
6. Service Availability
We aim for high availability but do not guarantee uninterrupted access. Processing time depends on file complexity and queue depth; Standard and Precision tiers are processed after payment and may take several minutes. We will not be liable for delays beyond our reasonable control.
7. Limitation of Liability
To the extent permitted by Finnish law, FORGE Oy's total liability for any claim arising from use of the service is limited to the amount you paid for the specific order giving rise to the claim.
We are not liable for indirect, consequential, or incidental damages, including lost profits, loss of data other than uploaded mesh files, or business interruption.
Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation.
8. Governing Law and Disputes
These terms are governed by Finnish law. Any dispute that cannot be resolved amicably will be submitted to the District Court of Helsinki (Helsingin käräjäoikeus) as the court of first instance, unless mandatory consumer protection law requires otherwise.
EU consumers may also use the European Commission's Online Dispute Resolution platform at ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr.
9. Changes to These Terms
We may update these terms. We will post the new version here with an updated effective date. Continued use of the service after the effective date constitutes acceptance. For material changes we will display a notice in the app.
